I’m so lucky that I’ve never had to have major surgery because the whole idea of it terrifies me! I made this to show my fears about how anaesthetic’s effect isn’t entirely known and how it’s not actually known if part of the brain is awake and aware of what’s happening with memories either not being formed (like forgetting a dream when you wake up) or being wiped out with amnesia.

This was actually finished weeks ago, but I’d never gotten around to writing a description and letting the stock artists know (my laziness knows no limits!), part of me really likes it but another part just thinks it looks amateurish, any ideas for improvements to my technique would be very much welcomed! The patient is me, mainly because it’s easier taking a shot to fit than trying to find one; plus I’ve never really felt comfortable using other people’s images in situations like this, I feel too guilty!

I don’t usually do this but I’m dedicating this to 2 people, first =Xerces for inspiring me to do something in this style; second =Serenity-Falls for always supporting my work and for showing me what real fear is (namely being in a car while she’s driving!).
